For Model Number 4B1500
1. Install only in solid, non-rotting window tracks. Expand guard to fit tightly into outside window track.
2. Temporarily support guard in level position NO MORE THAN 4½ inches from window sill to upper half of bottom bar. Mark location of top holes on each side. Remove guard and drill 5/32” dia. pilot holes 1” deep.
3. Reposition guard and drive 10x1½” one-way screws (provided by manufacturer) part way into jamb. Drill remaining holes and install all screws fully into window jamb.
4. Raise the inner window to NO MORE THAN 4½” above the lower half of the top bar. On the right hand side, position the “L” shaped stop so as to limit the opening above the window guard to a maximum of 4½” (see illustration). Mark and drill 5/32” dia. pilot holes 1” deep. Repeat for the left side.
5. Secure each stop using the two one-way screws provided for each stop. Now the lower window sash (the inner window) should not be able to be raised more than 4½” above the lower half of the top bar of the window guard. |
